Dairy companies and scientists present results of their research into food waste

Over the last few years, a large number of grocery stores and food producers, including dairy companies, have come together to tackle issues around resource efficiency and waste streams. The results of this public-private cooperation with researchers from Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research were presented on Wednesday, May 18 in Veghel.

Reducing food waste and improving the use of waste streams are focal points of the Dutch Sustainable Food Alliance. This organization brings the sector together to make the food chain more sustainable. Together with Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research, the Alliance began the CARVE project in 2015: “across supply Chain Action program Reduction of food waste, improved Valorisation & resource Efficiency”.
